Dentistry/Temporary Bridge Options

Question
I've very recently had my Upper Right 1 tooth removed due to an accident and have had an implant installed. No problem with the implant so far, but the aweful thing I have to fill the gap is far from suitable. It's a resin palate which fits behind my front teeth - and it doesn't feel good at all. As I talk a lot on a daily basis in my job (I'm a Technical Trainer) it's vital that I can speak clearly and confidently - so the palate is not ideal. I've asked my dentist what other options there are and she has recommended a Maryland Bridge. However, I feel that is a more permanent solution rather than temporary, and I also want to get my Upper Left 1 and Lower Right 2 teeth straightened by an Orthodontist as the position of these teeth has moved over the years and will cause problems with the new crown. So, I'm looking for a Temporary Bridge. I did spot one a few weeks back on the internet which had two wires connected to it which enabled the crown to be secured to an adjoining tooth. But I can't find it now. Do you know of such a device, or is there another alternative which can be removed when the orthodontist starts work on the crooked teeth? I'd rather get all this work done while the implant is (hoepfully) taking root. Thanks

I am not quite sure what you are describing here. Is this something removable? If so you are thinking of a removable partial denture with clasps that grab the teeth on both sides. Will fit better but still moves...plus the wires do show. if it is something that stays in, then i am not sure what you are describing. A maryland bridge will hold better but you cannot take it in and out. it stays in until it has to be cut out. i wonder if the orthdontist can configure something better for you. they make retainers with teeth on them all of the time. and patients end up wearing them for a long time. i would talk to your orthodontist and see what he/she has up "their sleeves". You might be surprised. Good luck,
