Dentistry/Tiny chip in one of my 2 front teeth

Question
As stupid as it sounds, I was biting on a needle trying to get it unstuck from underneath threading on the back of a plastic canvas project and I put a tiny chip in the bottom and bottom front of one of my front teeth.  Tiny but I can run my finger nail across the bottom front of my tooth and it falls into the cracking/chip.  Plus I can feel it with my tongue when I run it along the tooth.  Is this going to be a huge deal or am I worrying over nothing?  Can your front tooth get a small chip and still be okay?  Maybe get smoother as time goes on?

Thank you for your time.

Answer
Shannon,

The chip may or may not change over time.  It is best to see your dentist and see if the chip can be smoothed.  If it is more of a chip than can be smoothed away, a small tooth-colored bonded filling can be placed to fill the gap.

Best wishes,

Steve
