Dentistry/Tongue Pimple
Expert: Jeff Dalin DDS - 6/7/2006
QuestionA couple months ago, I felt something like a bubble on the bottom of my tongue. I looked in the mirror and it looked clear with two tiny bean shaped red things inside it. They were flat inside it. I waited for it to go away because I thought it was maybe asore. But it has been about 3 months and it has not gone away; not even close. When I get ready to eat a big dinner, it gets extremely large. About the size of a pea. It is filled with something but it gets on my nerves. By any chance is it some type of canker sore? If it is, it must be different because it doesn't hurt unless I pick it. I'm going to try to see a doctor soon, but I want to know if I can take care of it myself at home first.
By the way. I am a kid.
Thanks for any answers.

I cannot give you any definitive answers without seeing things in person. From what you describe, I think it is a mucocele...which is a clogged small salivary gland. I would let an oral surgeon look at it. This is the person who can take care of this. Good luck,
