Question My name is Ryan Zembower and i have had pain on the upper left side of my teeth for about 6 months now. i dont know which of the back three it is,but i have a good idea that its one i already have a crown on and have had a root canal. its very unpleasant, and because of that my front tooth and the one to the left of it are very sore and ache all the time, is that normal? I have been to an endodontist and dentist and had nerve test, they came back good, my dentist has given me a mouth gaurd, it has not helps. ive seen an ear, nose, throat doctor for sinuses, they are normal. when my tooth aches, i feel it in front of my left ear and behind my eyes ache. all i know is i still have pain in my tooth, it feels like its one that ive already had a root canal and crown on. i was wondering what the symtoms were to see if i needed to have the root canal redone? the reason i think this is because a few years ago when i had pain in my tooth it also hurt in my front teeth just like this and it ended up being a root canal. any help would be appreciated. im getting married in a month and would love nothing more than to get this taken care of!!
Answer You're experiencing referred pain to the front area. You could need a retreat of the root canal,it would show up on the x ray usually or on tapping you'd feel pain. You have to get to a dentist ,endodontist, or oral surgeon and get a very careful diagnosis before you undergo any treatment. It could be an adjacent tooth. The pulp vitality test you mentioned isn't reliable on multirooted teeth. It's most important to get this right. The last thing you want is to go through a procedure and still be in pain.Get in to see another dentist or endodontist a let them diagnose you. It should be possible to narrow it down if you're have these symptoms.Something is going on.It was good to get the negative from the ent now go and get a thorough exam by a dentist see what they could find.
