Dentistry/White teeth blotches
Expert: Rafael Mosery,D.D.S. - 4/11/2006
QuestionHi,
Thanks for your followup but the situation is quite different. It seems after hearing from a friend of mine who kows medicine well it seems something along the lines of dental fluorosis and due to too little calcium and probably too much fluoride. Is this condition very bad and can it be solved because the patches are starting to increase in size.
Help highly appreciated

Hi,
Recently, i have discovered that I have white teeth patches on my two front teeth. I am not sure exactly how it got there because all I did was wake up in the morning and notice it there. I brush my teeth twice a day and nothing such as injuries has happened to my teeth,
May I also add that it tends to get better later on in the day but in the morning it is clearly visible again,
May I ask if there is any cure for this or ways I can prevent it from largening.
Thanks Very Much for youre time,
Help greatly apprecaited,
Rebt

It sounds like you're sleeping with your mouth open.Maybe you're congested and can't breath through your nose,or have allergies etc. What's happening is you're mouth breathing and dessicating (drying out) the front teeth. As the day goes on ,the enamel loses it's frosty appearence when the teeth get fully hydrated again. Treatment of choice is no treatment of all.
Good Luck and don't worry

AnswerI'm at a disadvantage obviously since this whole interchange is taking place in hyperspace. Depending on the severity and size 2 options are available
1.Prema micro abrasion- the dentist uses a special acidic paste and buffs out the spots.
2.Bonding the affected areas.
The first is less invasive but you have to be seen first before a definitive treatment is selected.
Good Luck
