Dentistry/Wisdom Teeth Removal

Question
Hi,
I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed next week. I was just wondering how long
it usually takes for a person to get back up and running. I know it is different for
each person. But if everything goes to plan, should I expect to be out for a
couple of days, or week. Any help would be great!

Answer
Dear Tuck,

That depends on what you consider "up and running". Although complete closure of the extraction wounds may take several weeks, the majority of patients do not need to take any time off from work-- unless they want to. There are the occasional complications of healing that may manifest as pain-- such as dry socket-- but most patients are capable of soldiering on with the help of their dentists' care.

Hope this helps...
