Question
I had my wisdom teeth taken out 5 day ago.  Is it normal to still have problems opening my mouth as wide as normal?  Is there anything I should be doing to help?  Thank you.

Answer
Amber -  Stiffness in the jaw after wisdom tooth removal can last up to 10 days after the extraction.  It is important to stretch your jaw to the point it begins to hurt and then push a little harder.  Occasionally, warm moist compresses to the side of the face affected is necessary to assist with the forced openings.
