Question
Hi Jeff,
I appreciate your reply from a previous question and would like to ask one more. How do students with families get through a 4-year program and still be able to pay their bills, feed their families, and spend time with their loved ones? I really would like to become a dentist and think it would be great to have my own business. Do you know of other dentists that went through dental school while raising a family?
Thanks, Nick

Answer
Nick
It would be a rough 4 years. I did it as a single person. Most were married. Many had kids. It seemed like the spouses were the breadwinners during those years. People even tried to work a little bit in order to bring in some extra money. A lot of loans were gotten. And a lot of help from family members. The time thing is something you just work out. It is definitely a challenge...but if you have the desire and the dedication, you can do it. GOOD LUCK!!!
