Dentistry/extra tooth

Question
I have an 11 month old baby with her front 4 teeth on top already out. I just noticed that behind her front tooth (which has started to turn out a little) there is what seems to be an extra tooth. This "extra tooth" is very sharp and pointed. She is so young, what can be done? And what is this called?

Answer
have your dentist look at this. i am not sure what is going on here without seeing it in person. it might just be an extra tooth. it might be the cuspid just in a different position than it normally comes in as. at 11 months, you do not do much of anything. you just try to monitor things and watch as all of the baby teeth come in. make the appointment and get your baby under observation.
