you were very honest in your previous responses so i would firstly like to thank you for that . i eventually got a bottom tooth out and got a flipper/partial put in i have a few issues with the device and i do understand that it takes a little getting used to but the metal clasps feel really tight on my teeth causing pain especially when i bite down as my top teeth bite onto the clasps is there any way round this also when i had the tooth out which i dont know if you remember was a failed root treatment saga ,but the thing is the teeth beside the extracted tooth are really tender and sore i have never had a tooth out so this might be normal but 1 especially is sore and if i take a deep breath and cold air hits it it throbs a little in your opinion is this caused by the infected tooth eventually coming out i hope this makes sense
thanks again
James
Answer Hi James
The denture just needs adjusting slightly - see your dentist and they will easily be able to sort this out.
It is quite usual for the teeth adjacent to an extraction site to show symptoms for a while after the extraction - this should settle.
I am an experienced general dental practitioner in private dental practice. I have worked for the past 25 or so years in the UK, and own a busy practice in Stratford upon Avon,
Stratford Dental. From early 2012 my wife and I moved to Canberra, Australia, where I have taken up the position of Lead Dentist in a large city-centre practice. I will happily answer questions related to general practice, and have interests in endodontics (root canal), dental implants, CEREC/E4D cad-cam dentistry and cosmetic dentistry.
Experience
I have been a general dental practitioner for over 25 years, working initially under the NHS, but since 2001 have been solely in private practice. I run a busy practice with my wife, Lisa, who is also a dentist. I have also been closely involved in the training of young dentists, and have lectured to dentists on a variety of subjects, both clinical and managerial, related to general dental practice.
