I disagree that an oral surgeon is necessary to operate on the sinus.  Many general dentists have undergone training to do sinus augmentation surgery and perform it better than some oral surgeons.  This oral surgeon clearly has strong opinions about what a general dentist should be operating on.  The reality is, a general dentist can have advance training in any specialy and perform advanced procedures as well as specialists.
