Subject: vinegar for rosacea?

Question
I have a mild to moderate case of rosacea; much of the time it is mostly not noticeable, but at times it is very blotchy and itchy.  I've heard that vinegar can be applied to tame symptoms; is this true?  I've used Metrogel in the past with good success but my current insurance doesn't cover it.

As a 45-year-old woman, my main concern is how it looks.  If not vinegar, do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Answer
I have never head of vinegar helping rosacea.  Vineagar does have anitbiotic properties and is used in some medications.  The three main topical medications for rosacea are Metrogel 1%, Finacea, and Sodium Sufacetamide.  There are the oral medications like Oracea and Solodyn. Go to the web site www.rosacea.org and look up the trip wires.  Tripwires are agents that can make rosacea worse.
