Dermatology - seborrheic dermatitis

Expert: Michael S. Fisher, Ph.D., M.D. - 11/6/2009

Question
Is there an over-the-counter product that I could buy to get rid of seborrheic dermatitis on my face? Thank you very much. Al Brown

Answer
You can try Cortaid or Cortisone 10. However, these topicals should not be used every day because they are cortisone which can thin the facial skin or cause steroid rosacea. The newest and best treatment for your condition is the prescription Promiseb which is a non-steroid and could be used every day if needed.
