Question
Hello there!

I noticed (about 1-2 days ago) an area on my part (toward the back that is pink/pale red in comparison to the rest of my white scalp. I was in the sun all day the day before I noticed it....it does not hurt or bother me. What could this be? Could it be sunburn? Does not itch, sting, is not sore to touch, nothing. Its a small area (about the size of three quarters laid next to eachother). I don't want to go anywhere (doctor) b/c its not causing me any pain or discomfort

Also, is it normal to gave marks on the scalp? For example, I have two flat salmon colored/light pink spots (one slightly smaller than a pencil eraser and round and the other half that size). Both round and flat. It does not cause me any pain or discomfort either.

Lastly, I've always had a mild case of dandruff (very very tiny flakes, almost liks specs). Is there any good product that is safe and gentle and ideally, natural that you could recommend?

Eva

Answer
Dandruff can be treated but not cured.  You can try over the counter T-gel or T-sal and see if they are helpful.  If this is not effective, you can visit your local dermatologist and get a prescription like Clobex shampoo.
The red marks in your scalp can also be Seborrheic Dermatitis or dandruff.  Treatment of this is with Clobex shampoo and a topical cortisone like the prescription Kenalog Spray.  You may want to visit your local dermatologist for the correct diagnosis, since I cannot see your scalp.
