Follicular eczema is not a serious condition and is fairly common. People with this skin condition suffer from small rough, red bumps around their hair follicles. These bumps can become inflamed, itchy and bleed, depending on the severity of the eczema. Even while the condition is under control, those with follicular eczema are prone to break-outs their entire life under certain conditions.
Follicular eczema can be cause by stress, poor diet, weather changes, allergies and illnesses such as asthma. Follicular eczema ican be controlled. therefore it is best to manage these possible risk factors before the condition worsens.
To avoid follicular eczema flare-ups, refrain from scratching affected areas, as this tends to exacerbate the condition. Also try to wear clothing made of natural fibers, as this may irritate your skin less. Keep your skin moisturized, and avoid repeatedly changing skin products. Managing your stress levels with exercise may also help control your follicular eczema.
