Question
I have acne miliaris necrotica as told by my dermatologist and she gave me minnocyclin to take twice a day for three months. I'm scared to take it and it's been two weeks. So my question is are there any alternative topical ways to treat it and may I dye it with a ppd chemical free organic hair dye? I am a nineteen year old female.
Thanks!
-Jasmine

Answer
Minocycline is a common treatment for acne. I have patients that have been on the drug for 12 months without side effects. The strongest medication for acne is accutane but you have to have blood work once a month while on the medication. 80% of patients who take this drug never have acne again. When I treat acne I also prescribe topical medication like Epiduo or Ziana or Onexton.
