Dermatology/Red bumps on my legs

QuestionI have these red bumps on my legs for many years. It started to appear when I pluck my leg hairs. I have tried scrubbing, moisturising, whitening, even hydroquinone cream (skin bleaching cream). I'm at my wits end, and I'm getting married in 3 months' time! Does depilatory creams (hair removal cream) helps? I've read so many beauty forums about such red spots, are these red bumps really caused by ingrown hair? My pores are red, is the redness are the cause of inflammation? Pls tell me how to get rid of them.
AnswerRed bumps on the legs associated with the hair follicles is called Folliculitis. Folliculitis is inflammation around the hair follicle and can be caused by a superficail bacterial infection. If you see pustules then there is bacteria involved and you would have to use a prescription topical antibiotic like Evoclin Foam. If no pustules then the inflammation is due to shaving, waxing, or plucking of the hair. This type of inflammation is treated with topical prescription cortisone like Olux Foam or Clobex Spray. I recommend you visit your local dermatologist for the best medication to control your skin condition.
