Yes, this answer is correct ! I have many of these so called "moles" on my body. Back, chest, stomach, tops of my legs and arms. When one of these moles first appears it is quite small but over the years it does grow bigger. I inherited this from my Mother! My siblings don't have them, just me!! A bit unsightly at times but not life threatening in any way!

in 12/04 I first noticed a perfectly round, red mole appear on my right buttock area. I occasionally used a tanning bed. Both GYN and Internist said it was normal. By 01/06 it had gradually increased in size to pencil head eraser so in May 06 I asked (against his reccomendation) to have it biopsied. My father had had a mole removed (brown irregular)and it was melanoma so I wanted to be sure all was O.k. It came back melanoma and it was removed by surgery at MD Anderson 23 days later. Now, regular followups and all is well. Have others just like it and we are watching for growth.
