Desktop Video/video organization

Question
Hello,

I am hoping you might be able to help me find a piece of software that will let me organize video clips.  I am looking to take different exercise videos and put them in order so I can look at them as I exercise.  So I'd like to be able to create a playlist as it were in order of how I am going to go through in order.  I'd like to be able to use this on a PC and an iphone if possible as well.

Thanks,
Brian

Answer
This may be outside my area, I'm not sure. It sounds like you want to just be able to label clips and then put them into a playlist. I do professional video production so any ideas I may have will probably be overkill for what you need but I'll give it a shot.

You can always just label them in your editing software. That's what I do when I'm editing a video. THen you can drop them into whatever order you need on the timeline. You can also add chapter marks to export them to DVD if you want.

Another, and maybe easier, option is to upload them to Youtube and create a playlist. If you own them (you produced them) then this shouldn't be too hard and it will work on both PC and iphone (I guess iphone handles youtube). If these are purchased or you did not create them then you may be in violation of copyright laws and Youtube policy.

I hope this is somewhat helpful. like I said, this is a little outside my area if I'm reading it correctly. Message me again if you need follow up or if I misread.

Good luck.
