QuestionHello there, not sure if you can help me or not but...my brother passed on in Jan. and the funeral home had made up a slideshow to music about Mike. Anyway, I would love to make my own slideshow presentaion but there were alot of photo's I don't have that were in that dvd..so my question to you is....can I take the photo's one by one out of that dvd and put em on my hard-drive to use on my dvd?
I hope I made myself clear...and I sure hope you can help me~!!!!

I have a hard time with these verification things...not sure if it's an r or an i...so I have to do it 2 or 3 times...grrrrrrr
AnswerPenny,
There are three different things you can do.
1) The *smartest* thing is to contact the funeral home and ask them for copies of the digital photos. This will get you the highest quality pictures.
2) You can (using special software) go through the DVD, and take "screenshots" of each photo. The resolution of video is 720x480 (all video is this resolution). Which means the quality will be very, very low.
3) You coudl use software to "rip" the DVD into a format for editing - it will not produce results any better than suggestion 2.
Me? I'd get the funeral home to give me the digital pictures.
Best,
Jeff
