Desserts/Re: Ingredient Substitutions

Question
I actually have two questions, I hope that is all right.

1) When a recipe calls for maple flavoring, can I use maple syrup instead?

2)Can regular milk with vinegar added to it be used as a substitute for butter milk?

Answer
Hi There Marie,

In order to reach the desired flavor contained in a maple flavoring, you must stick with the recipe on this one. I do not know of a good substitute for maple flavoring.

I have happier news on the second question and that is, yes you can. About a tablespoon of vinegar per cup of milk.Blend together and let rest for 5-10 minutes before use. You can also use lemon juice in the place of the vinegar for the desired result...

Hope this helps and....

Have a delicious day!!
