Question I have been using a Nikon Coolpix 990 with a Promaster card reader for several
years but now suddenly my iMacOS 10.4.11 will not recognize the reader. I have
tried 2 cards with the same result. Is the problem likely to be in the camera, the
reader or even in the computer? Thank you for any help you can give.
Answer It could be any of the components in your system. Try troubleshooting by changing one variable each time. It does not sound like it is the cards, unless they both went bad at the same time, unlikely. It may be the reader. I don't think it would be the camera either. See if you can hook up the camera directly to your computer. Or get a new reader to see if it works.
