Question
I have given up on Kodak Easy Share for my W98. Can't upload photos any more and a few other problems with photo handling on stored photos. Tried uninstalling - reinstalling - running Kodak repair programs. Zero help form Kodak also. Camera is CX7430 and properly installed on computer.
Questions: Is there a program I can't find that came with W98 to upload photos? Do you know of any free software downloads available? All I want is to get the photos from my camera to the computer.
Thousand thanks, Dan

Answer
Hi Dan,

Unfortunately, I don't think Windows 98 has any native applications for handling digital images from a camera. The operating system was written long before digital cameras were so pervasive.

You might try downloading something like Picasa (http://picasa.com) or ACDSee (http://acdsee.com). I believe either of these applications will work for you; Picasa is free, and ACDSee is about $30 on sale. I have tried Picasa and like it quite a bit, and it's right in your price range!

I hope this helps - if you have further questions, please feel free to ask.

Happy Shooting!

-Scott
