Digital Photography - Quality of a photo

Expert: Bill Edwards - 1/27/2009

Question
I need to know if I want to print just 10*15 CM picture, taking a photo in 2 mega pixel  lead to a sharpen picture or select the maximum like 8 mega pixel in the camera. What picture of these 2 photos is sharper and more quality?
Thanks a lot

Answer
Hi Mohammad,

As a general rule I use the highest quality and mega-pixel output that my camera allows even though the print size you are making is small.  If you have concerns that the file size will be too big for your available storage space or may slow the process down then you'll have to experiment with your particular equipment to see what the quality trade off is.  Otherwise - stick with 8mp.

Good Luck!

Bill E
