Digital Photography - transferring a picture file to a CD

Expert: sanjay bajaj - 10/6/2009

Question
I use a digital camera Nikon S2 and transfer the images on the SD card to my PC via my printer.  I then edit the images so that they are in date/time order.   As a backup I then burn the picture file on to a CD.  My problem is that when playing the CD back on my PC the order in which the photos appear changes.   Can you explain this or tell me what I am doing wrong, please?  It is driving me mad.

Answer
Dear Robert

Delay to respond is regretted your process if I am not wrong is as below

Transfer pictures from SD Card trough printer which means you are not using the USB cable but the printer card reader.

The order of photos change : this can be attributed to

1. Due to the Card reader in printer is having certain programe which detects the photos in size wise and loads on to the CD

Now the remedy would be to copy all pictures on to your PC in a folder and ensure they are in order or get them in order by sorting and then burn on CD

if this is still doesn't solve that means you need to check your photo printer software settings and make necessary changes.
