Subject: Downloading pictures to a mac G4

Question
Hi,

I have a Mac G4 computer, that I'm still unfamiliar on how to use, (was handed down to me from my sister).  I have adobe photoshop, illustrator.  I have a digital camera that is a hp photosmart M525.  I have no idea on how to download any pictures to my G4.  I have tried inserting the hp disk, and have gotten no luck with it.  I have also surfed the web looking for answers but have found nothing.  i recently purchased a hp psc 1510 printer as well.  But I have no disk with the printer.  Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi Maggie,

Please accept my apology for lengthy response time (I am having issues with receiving emails)..and the computer issues (just in case you noticed that this response was empty the first time)

Mac's are plug and play.  You might need to download the latest drivers to start a friendship between your computer and camera .  The link for your camera is:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1...

and the link for your printer can be found here:

http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

just copy and paste them into your browser.

How are you connecting the camera to your computer?  Via a card reader or a USB or firewire?  The disk should show up on your desktop and you should be able to transfer the files to your hard drive, where you can edit them.  What happens when you plug in the disk?

If this does not work, please let me know the answers to the questions I have posed, and we can go from there.  Also, please let me know what version of  Mac OS  as well as the method of connectivity you are using.

If you need any other assistance, please do not hesitate to ask.  I know quite a bit about Macs, and Adobe software.

Good luck.

Sara
