Question
Hi there,

Just received my new Nikon D-200.  I was looking through the viewfinder and noticed that whatever i'm looking at is quite dark, not like looking through plain glass and seeing exactly what's there.  Is this the case because I haven't yet installed the battery?

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Wayne

Answer
Hi Wayne,

You are correct in thinking that your problem is due to the battery not being installed yet...you didn't need my help!  Unlike the old SLR's where the battery only controlled the light meter,  the D200 is entirely electronic, therefore the camera will not function without the battery.

Enjoy your new camera!

Sara
