Subject: digital movies to DVD

Question
Hello Scott
I recently bought a Canon Ixus digital camera and I am amazed at how good the short movies are. Currently the movies are stored on my PC. Do you know of a simple to follow package that I could install on my PC that will convert the movies to DVD?
Thank you Christine Young

Answer
Hi Christine,

There are a few packages out there that will allow you to burn your own movies to a DVD for playback, but I've not used them myself. Nero Burning and a few others claim to allow you to create a standard DVD, and in some cases create a menu. Adobe Premier and Encore DVD are used to create professional and advanced amateur DVDs, but have a very sharp learning curve and may be prohibitively expensive for small projects.

I would like to hear about your solution, since others might have similar questions. Please follow up with anything you might discover, and I'll keep an eye out as well, posting to this answer if I find something useful.

-Scott
