About James
Expertise
I can answer basic questions about content and some more technical questions as well as answer questions for models about starting a model career or hobby. I enjoy all genres of photography and would be happy to look at and give my input on any photos anyone might have online.

Experience
I am a photography hobbyist. I do it largely for fun, but have learned a good amount along the way. Not so much the technical aspect, but the content aspects. I have photographed both people and nature, and people in nature. lol.

Digital Photography - photography

Question
I have some old slides that I want to convert to digital.  I read an article where they suggested taking a picture of the slides with a digital camera.

However I am having trouble getting the camera to focus at such a close range.  Just wondering if you have any ideas?

Answer
I'm not that familar with that kind of thing, but I believe you can use a typical scanner and scan them. There should be an option for scanning negatives and/or transparencies. And scanners I believe can record images in greater detail than a free-moving digital camera. Namely make small images much larger. I hope that helps you somewhat.
