Question I have applied an Outer Glow effect to a drawing via the ADD A LAYER STYLE icon at the bottom of the Layers Palette. What I would like to know is if there is any way to erase any areas of the Outer Glow effect that are unwanted.
Answer Hi Jesse,
The most direct way would be to use a layer mask. Presuming you are using a recent version of Photoshop, you can use the shortcut CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+E on a new, blank layer to create a snapshot (merge visible to new layer) of your image with the effect applied.
Below this merged layer, make a copy of the drawing layer without the effect.
Back on your merged layer, add a layer mask, and paint away on the mask any areas you don't want.
