My rights as patient under Title 38 section 17.33 have been repeatedly violated by the local VA hospital. The Patient Reps will do nothing about it. In fact, none of the staff is willing to help me or even care. They will not let me speak to the Ethics Committee even though the Patient Rights posters say that I have this right. I need someone to help me, who do I contact so that I can file charges civil and criminal? I have proof of these allegations and I have read some of titles 38, 42, 21, 21A and 6. I have a fair idea of what to say, I just do not know the right person to say it too. I tried the police at the VA hospital I do not think that they care. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
James Colin Manson Nash
Answer Dear James:
First I am not Mr. Saunders, I buried him in April 2007, to all Veterans and Military Retirees, I am Barry.
The VA has struck again. First thing you do is contact the Disabled American Veterans and join. Then contact a counselor with them. Let him review your evidence. He can probably get you a hearing before the ethics committee.
Second contact your Congressman. This is an election year, he will happy to write a letter to the VA that will do nothing. But do it anyway.
Third, find an attorney and have him contact the VA. If you can find one, it will cost you money. Depending on how good he is might give you some results.
Fourth, write a letter to:
The Honorable James B. Peake
Secretary of Veterans Affairs
