Question My son (who is 11) was just ruled disabled by the Office of Maternal Health under the Katie Beckett waiver in Mississippi. I have had people I know tell me that he ought to be eligble for some kind of income from SSI or SS. Is that true? Thank you.
Answer Gretchen, not necessarily, this program purports to be available for those people who do not qualify for SSI or Medicaid because of income in the household. You need to check with Social Security, but I suspect your household income is too high to qualify for income from SSI, and thus you were approved under this program.
