Question
What happens to my work insurance when I am considered permanantly disabled. Do I qualify for medic aid, medical, or some other type of insurance? please help me find solutions Thank you.

Answer
Henry, it depends.  From the time you are disabled according to social security, then Medicare will pick up in 24 months.  In the meantime, if you have long term disability insurance through your work, work may continue to pay for your insurance.  Also, there are some state rules that may need to be considered.  If you have no income, you might qualify for SSI and Medicaid, but this again is state specific.

You should contact someone in your state to get more specific answers.

I hope this helps,
