My name is Keenan and I am in 3rd grade. I am doing a big project on tornados. I have already learned some of the characteristics of a tornado like tornados come in all different shapes and sizes. Also, I have larned that whe a tornado appears a huge cloud of debris forms in a large circle. What I would like to find out is what it is like to be near a tornado. Have you ever been near a tornado? What was it like? If you haven't been near a tornado, do you know someones who was?
Thanks,
Keenan
Answer Keenan,
I am so sorry for not answering your question. I was not notified until I just saw an e-mail from another question. I hope it is not too late. I have been near a tornado, last May I was near a very weak tornado. But being near several strong thunderstorms that almost produce tornadoes the general feeling near a tornado is it is very windy. This is due to the wind flowing into the thunderstorm making it more organized. Most of the time stormchasers position themselves on the backside of the storm where it is not raining and you can see the tornado perfectly.
If you need more help I will get back to you ASAP. Sorry for the delay.
