My family and I are annual passholders at the Disneyland Resort, and we go there about once per week. We, have eaten at every restaurant (even a few that are no longer open), and stayed at the hotels of the resort (even though we live 10 miles away). My wife and I have each been going to Disneyland since 1965.

Disneyland - Electrical Parade, Fantasmi Dec 13?

Hello Steve,
I'll be spending thanksgiving at DL and going back Dec 13 %26 14. I notice there's no listing on the DL site for the Electrical Parade and I thought this was a holiday season tradition? Is there an official "kick off" day for it to come back? Also, for Fantasmic, I don't see in on the schedule for Dec 13 or any time in Dec. Do you know what is going on with it?

Hi Wendy,

I had to do quite a bit of research on this, even using up some of my secret stash of pixie dust on the folks at Disney. Sadly, we cannot go on past experiences any more, because so much is changing quickly. For example, the Electrical Parade traditionally showed through LaborDay weekend. This year, however, it stopped August 23.

I checked the calendar, and my research confirms what you found (or didn't find). After doing some research with my usual sources of info, I finally had to call my contacts at Disney. Even they could not give me a positive answer. The traditional rollout day for the Electrical Parade is the 2 weeks surrounding Christmas and New Years. This year, that date falls on Dec 18. My contacts at Disney told me that Fantasmic is still scheduled to perform on the weekends. So my opinion would be that you'll be able to see Fantasmic, but not the Electrical Parade.

When information is not posted on the Disney site, it means that the brass at P&R (Parks & Resorts) are still hashing it out, crunching numbers. I noticed that nothing's on the schedule beginning Dec 18, which is really sad. Sadly, I'm supposed to be an expert on Disney, but I cannot do much when the folks at Disney don't know themselves. Stay 'tooned, and keep checking the calendar.
