Divorce Issues - Annulment

Expert: Equality in Marriage Institute - 8/30/2005

Question
Do you know how long you have to be married to get an annulment?

Answer
Dear Shannon,

I was not able to locate a specific time period but I would imagine that if you feel that your marriage was not completely of your free will or were married under certain expectations that were not immediately fullfilled then you would be able to annul your marriage. I have found two links that may offer more specific information:

http://www.americancatholic.org/Newsletters/CU/ac1002.asp
http://divorcesupport.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fpw2.net...

I would recommend that you speak with someone at your religious institution and your at your local court house about what the requirements are in your particular area. (it also differs from state to state
