Divorce Issues/Changing Decree

Question
I am not making as much money as expected and can not afford the child support and maintenance I am paying. I have been divorced only a year and would like to know what my chances of going to court and getting these reduced would be? The divorce was in Indiana and that is where I currently live.

Answer
Dear Rodney,

I do not know the chances of getting support reduced, only that you are legally allowed to try. Generally a change in the financial area is an allowable reason to have support adjusted. Check out this link for more info http://www.in.gov/judiciary/rules/child_support/
