Question Do the final divorce papers have to be notarized before sent to the court for filing?
Answer Dear Amy,
Because the laws differ form state to state I would recommend that you speak to your lawyer or call your state bar association. Generally speaking unless there is a signature line for a notary, it is not necessary. It doesn't hurt to double check. Perhaps simply calling your local courthouse would suffice.
I hope this helps.
