Question
I have a 1998 dodge Dakota 2.5 liter, I was down shifting and in mid shift i heard a pop from inside the cab and the clutch pedal lost all pressure and fell to the floor... My shady mechanic has told me that it needs a whole clutch kit... What would you say it is?

Answer
Did you make sure the rod connecting the pedal to the master cylinder didn't break? Also, the cylinder mounted on the firewall, with the fluid, is the clutch master cylinder. The slave is down below. It isn't a very easy part to test.

Just look as best you can and see if anything linkage broke from the pedal down to the trans. If nothing appears broken, then check the master cylinder.
