Question
Where is the crankshaft sensor on a 2004 ram 1500 with a 5.7L engine?

Answer
5.7L V-8
The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located at the right-rear side of the engine cylinder block (CKP REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 5.7L V-8). It is positioned and bolted into a machined hole in the engine block.

Raise vehicle.
Disconnect CKP electrical connector at sensor (CKP REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 5.7L V-8).
Remove CKP mounting bolt (CKP REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 5.7L V-8).
Carefully twist sensor from cylinder block.
Remove sensor from vehicle.
Check condition of sensor o-ring.
