Dodge Repair - Blend Air Door Removal and Installation

Expert: Kevin - 4/24/2009

Question
QUESTION: Do you have to remove the dash to remove the blend air door on a 2006 Dodge 1500 PU?  How do you remove the blend air door unit?

ANSWER: why do u think u need a blend air door.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: My heat and A/C work however, the force of air that blows through all the vents, floor and defrost has not force.  When you turn it on high, it blows like the fan is only on the second setting.  Also, when it's on high, it is very loud in the dash and in the summer when you open the glove box, there is cold air blowing out.  I was told by a dealership that the bled air door was probably stuck in the down position and very little air was passing through.  When we took the glovebox off and looked at the blend air door, it was broke, at the part that should rotate to different positions.  We were able to pull the "door" itself out of the whole unit, we purchased a new unit and realized that you purchase the whole thing, not just the part that was broke.  We will have to install the new one when we have more time, I understand its 4-5 hours. We put everything back together (minus) the "door" and it blows great even on the lowest setting. (like it did when it was brand new)

Answer
u need a rec door not a blend air door. This door allows outside air inside  or makes the air already inside move around. They brake all the time on an 06. U can remove just the dash and not the box to replace this. Need that instructions?  take u half a day.
