Question I need to know how to get the alternator out of a 2002 dodge intrepid. Somehow the positive wire burnt in half down by the pole, and I need to get it out to replace the pole. Thanks
Answer REMOVAL - 2.7L
Disconnect negative battery cable.
Raise and support vehicle.
Remove lower plastic splash shield (GENERATOR 2.7L).
Remove transmission cooler and reposition cooler out of the way.
Remove lower radiator crossmember support and position a jackstand under radiator for support.
Loosen adjusting T-bolt, but do not remove.
Loosen pivot bolt, but do not remove.
Remove the generator drive belt. Refer to the Cooling System section.
Disconnect the generator field circuit plug.
Remove the B+ terminal nut and wire.
Remove pivot bolt, being careful not to lose spacer.
Remove generator.
