I got the van started but when i drive it it doesnt wanna shift gear doesnt go over 40.
my question is what is the def. of code P1698-P1684-P0622 & how can i repair it or check it thank you.

Hi David,
The 1684 just means the battery was disconnected recently from the system and is no doubt related to your efforts.
The 1698 means that the digital communication signal from the transmission control module is not being seen and shared by the rest of the communication modules which is probably why the trans is not shifting.
The 0622 means there is a problem with the field control wiring to the alternator (so you may not be getting any charging to the battery were that the case).
As to the wire color gray/red I don't see exactly that combination of coloring in the transmission control wiring system so I would urge you to look again at the color under a bright light after clean the insulation surfaces.
The 0622 code may be due to the disconnection of a brown/gray wire that runs from the pin 8 of one of the two pcm plugs to pin 2 at the alternator. So see if you can find a pair wires that might each go to one of those two locations and then splice them together.
On the 1698 look for white/brown, white/violet, and white/orange wires which are the digital data carrying wires to and from the tcm at pins 7,43,46 respectively and go to the pcm pin 65, pin 13 of the natural/red plug at the power box, and to pin 14 of the data link (code reader) socket under the dash, respectively.
I hope you can sort this out with better color identificationing.
