Dodge Repair - Oil in Coolant

Expert: James Bond 007 - 11/21/2004

Question
I have a 2003 Ram 1500 4.7L with about 47,000 miles on it.
Today I discovered that greenish-yellow scum in the oil filler
tube that means only one thing - coolant in the crankcase. I've
been noticing a slow coolant loss since about 5 months ago, but
had not noticed the scum until today. The truck has never
overheated on me and runs great. Since I've got an extended
warranty, it will be fixed, but I am concerned that there will be
long term cosequences as a result of this leak.

If this is repaired promptly, will there be negative effects on the
durability and reliability of the engine?

Thanks in advance.
David Pershing

Answer
Dave,
As long as the vehicle didnt overheat on you your okay. Just make sure they explain to you what repairs will be needed on the vehicle. Your lucky you have a extended warranty, I could almost guess, this repair would cost you alot of money... Ty..
