Dodge Repair - Power Train Control Module

Expert: Steve Forbes - 9/25/2004

Question
I have a 2000 Dodge stratus 2.4L which I need a power train control module for.  What is it and what does it cost.

Answer
Susan,

The PCM is one of the main computers that take care of the keeping the motor running. it can cause many diffrent problems.
Why do you think you need one?  Has the car been running bad or not at all?

The computer or PCM is very expensive, Depending on the year and car make it could run as much as $1200.00.

But , There are other means of getting one.  (junk Yard,Ebay)

Make sure you need one before you buy it. Get a second Mechanic to look at it for you.

Take care and good luck,
Steve
