Dodge Repair - STARTING A NEON THAT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR MONTHS

Expert: James Bond 007 - 11/19/2004

Question
HI,

I HAVE A 98 DODGE NEON THAT HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY GARAGE FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS.  I JUST BOUGHT A BATTERY FOR IT AND ALTHOUGH THE RADIO, WINDOW AND LIGHT TURN ON, THE CAR WON'T START.  IT MAKES A CLICKING SOUND BUT NOTHING ELSE.  CAN YOU HELP ME?

THANKS
MARITZA

Answer
Its possible the connections to the starter, are dirty. You will need to raise the vehicle support, it, and clean the connections to the starter. Make sure the positive battery, cable is dissconnected. If the vehicle starts, dont step on the gas, and race the engine. Let me know how it goes,, and Thanks...
