Dodge Repair - dodge interpid

Expert: Steve Forbes - 9/26/2004

Question
I wrote yesterday about my Dodge Interpid, My speedometer stop working it is not a digital one.And the check engine light came on. What can I do to fix this

Answer
The first thing i would try is the transmission output sensor, this is the sensor near the bell housing this is where the speedo gets its info . You may have to have someone reset the computer to get rid of the codes and to turn the light off. and if your not to handy with fixing cars you may want to just have a mechanic fix it for you. On the intriped it can be a very tight fit for the output sensor.  A mechanic should be about $60.00 labor and About $45.00 For the switch then about $70.00 for the computer reset.

Good luck,
steve
