Question
I have a 1988 dodge daytona shelby Z 2.2 turbo. everything is brand new, I rebuilt the motor and everything is awesome. car is overheating and last night there was water dripping on the passenger side of the rear of the motor. also the metal AC lines were cold and sweating like the AC was on, but it was not on. Do I just have a stuck thermostat? The water pump looks to be o.k. and not leaking. Is the thermostat responsible for the overheating and the sweating of the AC lines? thanks!

Answer
You will get a overheating problem from the following.
1. thermostat bad
2. cooling system dirty
3. water pump not circulating the coolant
4. electric fan not coming on during operating temp
5. ignition timing off.
Your ac pipes could be sweating do to the fact the engine overheated.. Thanks,,, and good luck to you..
