Question
you helped me yesterday on my 1988 dodge daytona shelby Z 2.2 turbo. I replaced the thermostat last night. a few minutes after I start it the metal AC lines form ice on them. the radiator and head and all belts and hoses are brand new, as well as fresh coolant at 50-50 mixture. the water pump is a heavy duty but is 1.5 years old. is this my problem? I have eliminated everything else you gave me to try. the pump is not leaking but maybe the bearing is bad? thanks!

Answer
What I would do is try this, open the radiator cap when the engine is cold. Start the engine, and let the vehicle run until it gets hot. If the coolant in the filler neck of the radiator is not circulating, then you may have a water pump that has bad empellers on it. If this is the case, then the pump will need to be changed..
