Question
thank you for your last response to my dodge dakota 1988 v-6.  yes fuel gets to the throttle body there is spark at the plugs.  but how do you check vacuum at the map sensor.hopefully you have some more suggestions thank you and have a great day

Answer
Denise,

To check the vacume at the map sensor you need to hook a vacume gauge to the vacume line, if you dont have one of these then just make sure the hose is hooked up , not cracked and is not stopped up.
Also see if you can get a fuel presure reading, you should be around 40psi.  Sometimes when you run out of gas the plugs will get fouled out. remove the plugs and make sure they ar edry and clean.

Good luck,
Steve
